The Michael Del Pietro restaurant empire continues to grow.
Sugo's Spaghetteria (10419 Clayton Road, Frontenac; 314-569-0400) opens its new location today at 243 Harvard Drive in Edwardsville, Illinois.
This is actually the third edition of Del Pietro's casual -- and quite good -- Italian concept, which also has a location in Overland Park, Kansas.
Actually, the count is five if you include Del Pietro's Sugo's clone Babbo's Spaghetteria (17402 Chesterfield Airport Road, Chesterfield; 636-536-0000), which has locations in the Boone's Crossing mega-strip as well as in Columbia.
Over the past few years, Del Pietro has also opened Via Vino Enoteca (10427 Clayton Road, Frontenac; 314-569-0405), Pazzo's Pizzeria (140 South Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood; 314-821-6500) and, most recently, Tavolo V (6118 Delmar Boulevard; 314-721-4333), the latter two of which I reviewed in June.
The Edwardsville Sugo's Spaghetteria is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and for dinner Monday through Saturday from 5-10 p.m. and Sunday 4-9 p.m. You can reach it at 618-659-4640.
