Local Harvest Grocery (3108 Morgan Ford Road; 314-865-5260) this morning opened its new location at 12309 Old Big Bend Road in Kirkwood.

As co-owner Patrick Horine told Gut Check this spring, Local Harvest didn't look to Kirkwood -- Kirkwood looked to Local Harvest.

"We were approached by a family in Kirkwood who were interested in investing," he told us then, "[and] it coincided with the closing of McDonnell's Market," which space the new Local Harvest now occupies.

The new Local Harvest Grocery combines both Local Harvest ventures, as it also features a café in the mode of the original Local Harvest Café & Catering (3137 Morgan Ford Road; 314-772-8815) and the downtown location (9th & Locust Street; 314-241-3196), which opened this June.

You can reach the new Local Harvest Grocery at 314-966-6566. Gut Check will have a more in-depth look at the new grocery soon.
