Recent months have seen recalls of sausage that might contain pieces of a plastic pen, sausage that might contain pieces of a glove and frozen cheeseburgers that might contain pieces of a gasket.

To that list we can now add breakfast cereal that might contain fragments of metal mesh.

Kellogg's has announced a voluntary recall of certain packages of its Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size and Mini-Wheats Unfrosted Bite Size cereals because they might contain, to quote the company's announcement, "fragments of flexible metal mesh from a faulty manufacturing part."

The recall applies only to packages with the codes KB, AP or FK located either before or after the "Best If Used Before" date.
