- Korean-Mexican fusion food truck Seoul Taco (@SeoulTaco; 314-517-8916) announced via Twitter this weekend that its bricks-and-mortar location will have a soft opening this Saturday, September 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Seoul Taco has taken over the spot at 571 Melville Avenue in the Delmar Loop that was previously home to Gyros in the Loop and, before that, the original Gyro House.
- Ligaya Figueras of Sauce reports that Tropical Escape Tiki Bar & Grill has opened at #4 Club Center, Suite A, in Edwardsville, Illinois, the space previously occupied by Neruda. The menu (PDF) posted on the Tropical Escape website features such Caribbean-influenced cuisine as jerk chicken and conch fritters as well as sandwiches, burgers, steaks and more. According to its Facebook page, Tropical Escape is open from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with the kitchen closing one hour earlier.
