Comet Coffee opened this morning at 5708 Oakland Avenue in the Highlands Plaza Two building in the city's Cheltenham neighborhood. The address was previously the home of Sabu's Coffee, which shuttered in April of this year.
Partner Zach Althaus, a newcomer to St. Louis, tells Gut Check that Comet features hand-brewed coffee from various roasters. Althaus himself is a veteran of such acclaimed coffee establishments as Intelligentsia in Chicago.
Comet Coffee is open 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. You can reach Comet via its (nascent) Facebook page or at 314-645-7158.
