OK, so Gut Check's search for St. Louis' most underrated frozen treat was a wee bit of a bust. No problem. We pick ourselves up from the carpet, dust off the crumbs and move to a subject close to every St. Louisan's heart: Italian restaurants.
Yes, for the next week we're accepting nominations for St. Louis' most underrated Italian restaurant. It can be white-tablecloth fancy or strip-mall cheap, red-sauce/white-sauce or completely free of toasted ravioli.
You know the procedure by now: Leave your nomination and a compelling argument for its inclusion in the comments of this post. We'll narrow the field to ten based on our completely arbitrary criteria for what is and isn't underrated and then open it back up to your votes.
And, yes, after we determine St. Louis' most underrated Italian restaurant, we'll ask you to tell us what the most overrated one is.
An important note: This isn't a search for St. Louis' most underrated pizza. That will come in a future edition of Overrated/Underrated. So make sure your pick for underrated Italian restaurant isn't strictly a pizzeria. (Though good pizza can be part of your argument for a restaurant.)
