Oh, Albert. The Cardinals might have replaced your production thanks to Carlos Beltran's incredible season-to-date. Your brand, however, is proving a bit more problematic.
Witness the latest news to come out of St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame Bar & Grill (342 Westport Plaza, Maryland Heights; 314-439-0505) -- a.k.a. the restaurant that used to be known as Pujols 5 Westport Grill.
When the restaurant changed its name earlier this year, Gut Check opined that the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame Bar & Grill was a terrible name. (We even suggested some others, including an oddly prescient nod to Beltran.) We hate to say "We told you so," but...
The restaurant will henceforth be known as Patrick's Restaurant & Sports Bar, a nod to one of owner Pat Hanon's previous establishments. It will still feature St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame memorabilia.
The employee with whom we spoke this morning -- she answered the phone using the new Patrick's moniker, so the change is already in pace -- said that the menu is "still the same," though they might add some new items along the way. (The restaurant did recently add a new selection of fresh seafood dishes, she noted.)
A tip of the hat to this thread on the Post-Dispatch's "Eat at Joe's" forum, where we first saw the news.
