Has Falafelwich (@Falafelwich; 314-884-8370) gone AWOL?
The food truck last tweeted about its regular operations on Friday, June 8, prior to the most recent "Food Truck Friday" organized by Sauce. It hasn't updated its Facebook page since that same day. The Falafelwich website redirects to a Go Daddy page.
Gut Check has reached out to the Falafelwich operation directly for more information. However, we can confirm at least one change.
Falafelwich launched one year ago, the first food truck from St. Louis-based restaurant PR and branding firm Inside Hospitality. Prior to the truck's debut, Gut Check spoke with Inside Hospitality owner Gary Tripp about the venture.
Is this Inside Hospitality's first food truck venture?
Tripp: It is the first food truck concept that will be operated by us. We have worked on a great number of food truck consulting projects over the last several years throughout the country.
A phone call to Inside Hospitality this morning reveals that the company no longer has a stake in Falafelwich, nor is it involved in the food-truck business in St. Louis at all.
(Local food-truck obsessives might remember that Falafelwich planned to launch a second, meatball-centric venture called Big Balls. That truck even had a nascent Twitter and Facebook presence, both now deleted.)
