Burger INK. (@BurgerInk; 636-290-6635) rolled onto the streets of St. Louis County this week, the latest addition to the fleet of thirty-plus food trucks in the area.
Owner and chef Josh Lemmon is a St. Louis native and Le Cordon Bleu graduate. He describes his truck's fare as "gourmet burgers, paninis and wraps."
"I want to use my burgers as a canvas," for different flavors, Lemmon says.
His menu includes such creations as the "Benedicto," with a fried egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, roasted-garlic aioli and spring greens on a pretzel bun, and the "Frenchie," with port-braised onions, brie, roasted-garlic aioli on a ciabatta bun. Yes, there is also a basic burger -- the "Boring" burger, Lemmon calls it -- with cheddar cheese on a kaiser roll.
Burger INK. also offers a lamb burger and a veggie burger. The panini and wrap menu includes panini with either roast beef or roast turkey and a wrap made with tuna pan-seared medium rare.
At the moment, Burger INK. is licensed to operate only in St. Louis County. Lemmon tells Gut Check he is working toward operating not only in the City of St. Louis, but also in St. Charles County, where "there is a ton of untapped potential" for food trucks.
