StewedSTL is having a good month.
And, no, while Gut Check doesn't hide the fact that we are, at heart, selfish bastards, we aren't talking about the local food, drink and restaurant podcast's star turn when its hosts emceed this year's Iron Fork. (Though that was awesome, too.)
A few weeks ago, StewedSTL launched a fundraising campaign via Kickstarter, looking to raise $2000 to upgrade its studio equipment. The campaign worked: StewedSTL reached its goal a week before the deadline.
(Full disclosure: Yours truly, a guest on an early episode of the podcast and a listener, donated a few bucks.)
StewedSTL continues to raise money but will now donate 30% of anything that it earns beyond its $2000 goal to the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
This Thursday, April 12, StewedSTL will hold a fundraiser for itself and the St. Louis Area Food Bank at 4 Hands Brewing Company (1220 South Eighth Street; 314-436-1559), with the new craft brewery donating a portion of its proceeds from 4-9 p.m. The food truck Guerrilla Street Food (@GuerrillaStreet; 314-529-1328) will be on hand with its Gut Check-recommended Filipino fare.
