Friday (Mar. 16):

Pre-St. Patrick's Day Festivities @ Westport Plaza Head to Westport Plaza for a pre-St. Pat's Day celebration to go green for the weekend. The event features green beer, green food and green fireworks all alongside a scenic green lake. Free. 6 to 9 p.m.

Around the World Wine Dinner @ Missouri Botanical Gardens Take your taste buds to Argentina for this month's menu and wine pairings put together by Catering St. Louis. Try a trio of empanadas, "locro" stew, a grilled baby lamb chop and beef skewer and more. Seats cost $58. Call. 314-577-0200 for reservations. 6:30 p.m.

Third Friday Open House @ Third Degree Glass Factory St. Patrick's Day themes invade during this monthly celebration featuring "Irish apple" cocktails and tapas ranging from Irish smoked salmon and caper cream cheese bruschetta to Dublin pub potatoes. Entertainment exists in the form of fire spinning, glass blowing, live music from the Trip Daddys and more. Free admission. 6 to 10 p.m.

March Madness @ International Tap House ITAP offers free BBQ from Bogarts at the Soulard location and PM BBQ at the Chesterfield location during lunchtime in addition to happy hour prices from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Saturday (Mar. 17):

St. Paddy's Day Breakfast Buffet @ Llywelyn's Pub Kick off the day of celebrations with a breakfast buffet. Enjoy corned beef and cabbage specials and various live Irish-themed entertainment throughout the day. $8 for adults; $6 for children. 9 a.m.

St. Patrick's Day Mystery History Tour & Traditional Irish Dinner @ 4666 Lansdowne The American Association of Railroaders presents a special trip to Saint Patrick of Armagh Church along with a corned beef and cabbage meal at 12:30 p.m. Fare costs $59 per person. Train departs at 9:30 a.m.

Food Truck Meet Up @ Koken Art Factory Vendors include ChopShopSTL, Guerilla Street, Seoul Taco, The Sweet Divine and more. In addition to offerings from local food trucks, live music, local brewery tastings, a cash bar and free hula-hoop demos and lessons round out the day of activities. Admission costs $5 for adults. 12 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.

St. Patrick's Day Dinner @ Lafayette Park United Methodist Church Enjoy classic corned beef or roast beef for cheap at this annual St. Patrick's Day dinner. $2.50 to $8. 12 to 7 p.m.

Sunday (Mar. 18):

Champagne Brunch @ Bixby's Enjoy brunch St. Patrick's style in scenic Forest Park with Irish cuisine and Guinness. $22.75 for adults; $11.95 for children. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The St. Joseph Altar @ St. Ambrose on the Hill View a temporary altar made of bread, sample food samples from Hill restaurants and enjoy specially prepared Italian delicacies for sale. Donations requested. Noon to 5 p.m.
