As the Mayans foretold, an inflatable scarecrow festooned with balloons and flashing you a come-hither smile and wave can mean only one thing: A new hot dog joint has opened.

Specifically, Classic Dogs & More is now open at 6106 Delmar Boulevard at the eastern end of the Delmar Loop. As we first told you a couple of weeks ago, Classic Dogs replaces Pam's Chicago-Style Dogs & More.

The restaurant didn't yet have take-out menus for us to share with you, but the menu on the wall features a wide variety of hot dogs and other sausages as well as sandwiches and gyros, with value meals (including fries and a drink) in the $6-$8 range.
