Over at RFT Music, my colleague Kiernan Maletsky reports that, at long last, Plush has opened its doors at 3224 Locust Street in Midtown.

The 40,000-square-foot -- that's not a typo, by the way -- restaurant, club, bar and concert venue has been in development for two years, though owner Maebelle Reed has operated the original Plush in Tucson, Arizona, for eleven years and counting.

Plush serves breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7 a.m.-1 a.m. daily. The RFT has been all over the opening of Plush, but in case you missed our coverage during the week between Christmas and New Year's, here are the links:

- Gut Check's Mabel Suen checked out the menu being prepared by executive chef David Zimmerman. Here's a snippet:
"I'm excited to give people real from-scratch food. We'll be making our own hamburger buns, grinding our own burgers, making our own bacon, sausage, pickles, ketchup and even some of our own cheese," Zimmerman says. "That's really the philosophy -- scratch-made diner food with interesting, accessible twists -- nothing you wouldn't recognize."
