Friday (September 23):

Taste of St. Louis @ Soldiers Memorial Plaza Sample 45 restaurants, witness a master chef competition, listen to national and local music, sample wines and more at this annual growing event. Free admission. Friday, Sept. 23 from 4 to 11 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24 from `11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Smash Bash, Concert for the Cause @ American Legion Post 199 in Edwardsville, IL Enjoy a free concert by The Smash Band, a wide variety of food vendors, contests, raffles and a silent auction -- all to benefit Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. Free admission. 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Saturday (September 24):

Green Homes Great Health Festival @ Missouri Botanical Garden Check out more than 100 green product and service exhibitors and enjoy local food, a green marketplace, live music, yoga, Tai Chi, solar car races and more. Admission to event included in garden admission -- $8 general admittance, St. Louis residents (both city and county) get in free before noon and $4 thereafter, and free admission for children ages twelve and under and Garden members. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

2nd Annual Fall Fling @ Saint Louis Wine Cellars Head over for a daytime tasting of more than 90 wines. The smorgasbord of samples is accompanied by snacks from vendors such as Bissinger's, Billy Goat Potato Chip Company and Kakao Chocolates. $5. Noon to 5 p.m.

5K Keg Run @ Lafayette Square Square One Brewery and Distillery sponsors 5K and fun runs around Lafayette Square Park to benefit the Health Resource Center, the Saint Louis University School of Medicine student-directed free health clinic. Fun runs include a costume run, pet run and one-mile beer run in which contestants must drink a half-pint of beer at each corner of the park. Registration is $20 in advance and $25 the day of the race. Races begin at 4 p.m.

Olive Oil and Wine Tasting @ Mount Pleasant Estates' Crush Lounge in Augusta, MO Winemaker Colin Pennington and Marianne Prey, owner of Extra Virgin, an Olive Ovation in Clayton, present an olive oil and wine tasting accompanied by a four-course meal including goat cheese torta and Hudson Valley duck breast. Call 636-482-9463 for reservations. $60 per person. 6 p.m.

Bye Bye Liver One Year Anniversary Party @ Maggie O'Brien's Pub Theater Company from Chicago presents the comedy Bye Bye Liver: The St. Louis Drinking Play, debuting brand new sketches alongside proven crowd favorites from the past year. Tickets are $14 and can be reserved online. Performances at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Sunday (September 25):

St. Louis Hills Art in the Park @ Francis Park The hills are alive with the sound of live music, along with loads of art from local vendors, hands-on activities, and grub from area restaurants including Bartolino's, Stellina Pasta, Bogarts and Legrand's Market and Catering at this neighborhood event. Free admission. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m

Birthday Celebration - Free Cooking Classes @ Whole Foods - Galleria As a thanks to its customers for the past ten years, Whole Foods offers two days of free classes including demos on Sicilian cooking, cooking vegan, cooking for the whole family and wine basics. Reserve your spot by calling 314-968-7744. Free. Saturday, Sept. 24 and Sunday, Sept. 25 from 12:30 to 6 p.m.

Autumn Farm Dinner @ Claverach Vineyard and Organic Farm in Eureka, MO Claverach's Sunday Supper series continues with chef Kirk Warner's menu of farm-fresh hor d'oeuvres, seafood, veggies and more. Call 314-808-1651 for reservations.$55 per seat. 5 p.m.
