Agostino's Restaurant & Bar, the original incarnation of which was founded by Agostino and Rosa Gabriele in 1967, was forced to close its Chesterfield location at the end of 2010 so that the city could build a new flood levee.

This August, the restaurant announced on its Facebook page that it would open a new location at 130 Ludwig Drive in Fairview Heights, Illinois.

John Agostino Gabriele tells Gut Check that the Agostino's team is in "the early stages of remodeling" its new space, which was formerly the restaurant Little Italy. He hopes to have the restaurant open by mid-October.

Gabriele says the new Agostino's will have the same menu as before, featuring pasta and veal dishes. However, the prices at the new location will be slightly lower.

The Gabriele family still intends to return to Chesterfield and will start looking for a new space there "once we get the [Fairview Heights] place up and running."
