Friday (July 15):

Pick-Your-Own Peaches @ Eckert's Keen on peaches? This plump fruit is in season at Eckert's, and picking season begins now. Plenty of homegrown Garnet Beauty and Red Haven varieties are ready. Peaches are $1.89/lb plus tax. 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Around the World Wine Dinner @ Missouri Botanical Gardens Chefs from Catering St. Louis will create a regional menu featuring food from South Africa and pair each course with a different wine from the same region. Menu items include a mixed grill sampler of pork sosaties (kabobs) and quince custard tartlets with rosewater syrup. Call 314-577-0200 for reservations. $55 per person. 6:30 p.m.

Third Friday Party @ Third Degree Glass Factory This monthly open house features glassblowing demonstrations, live music, fire spinning and art exhibitions. Tapas-style plates such as pulled buffalo chicken sliders with bleu cheese slaw, sweet summer corn and more will be available for $2 to $8 each. Free admission. 6 to 10 p.m.

Saturday (July 16):

Pesto Festo @ Ferguson Farmers' Market EarthDance sponsors this basil-friendly day featuring a pesto cooking contest, a yoga class, a raw-foods cooking demonstration and live music. Free admission. 8 a.m. to noon.

Gleaming Toothfairies Pub Crawl @ Great Grizzly Bear Pub crawl participants are invited to dress in tooth fairy costumes while visiting six Soulard area bars to benefit Give Kids A Smile, which provides free, comprehensive dental care to children whose families can't afford it. All participants will receive a free pub crawl T-shirt, complimentary appetizers and food and drink specials at each bar stop. $20 to $25. Noon.

National Day of Ice Cream @ Missouri History Museum Celebrate July as National Ice Cream Month and cool off during the weekend heat wave with free ice cream, entertainment and a chance to meet Norton, the North Star penguin. Free. 1 to 3 p.m

Field to Fork @ Eckert's Orchard Tasting Room Southwestern Illinois Resource Conservation hosts this event to support open space and land conservation featuring cocktails and a five-course dinner cooked by chef Jennifer Pensoneua of J-Fires and Trevor Stellhorn of The Office Bar & Grill. Call 618-566-4451 x22 for reservations. $45 per person; $80 per couple. 5:30 p.m.

Sunday (July 17):

Sunday Brunch Cruises @ Gateway Arch Riverboats Enjoy live Dixieland music and a brunch buffet on a cruise past downtown St. Louis. $38 for adults; $18 for children ages 3-12. 1 to 3 p.m.

Ice Cream Social and Book Fair @ Brentmoor Retirement Community Paperbacks and hardcovers alike from Left Bank Books will be on sale along with treats from Ted Drewes and Gus' Pretzels. Free admission. Noon to 3 p.m.

Italian Sunday dinner @ The Stable This weekly all-you-can-eat family-style Italian dinner has plenty of salad, pasta and cheese garlic bread to go around. $15.95 per person. 5 to 8 p.m.
