The heat and humidity are supposed to hit with the might of Thor's hammer this weekend. You'll probably reach for any number of cold beverages to help you ward off the sticky: lemonade, iced tea, beer, a bottle of vodka straight out of the freezer. (Or is that last one just me?)

For a change of pace, consider trying the "I.S. Taylor" at Bixby's, the newish restaurant inside the Missouri History Museum (Lindell Boulevard at DeBaliviere Avenue; 314-361-7313). This is one of Bixby's homemade sodas, a blend of seltzer water, simple syrup and rosemary.

It's a lovely thirst-quencher, perfect for this weather: crisp and verdant, sweet, yes, though not tooth-rottingly so. Would it improve with just a splash of your favorite clear spirit? It might.
