Because it's worked so well for Bravo ...
VH1, whose motto used to be "Music First," announced Wednesday that it's jumping into the restaurant reality show fray. On the menu: Famous Food, which will feature a bunch of celebrities rehabbing a restaurant with Los Angeles restaurateurs Mike Malin and Lonnie Moore of the Dolce Group.
And what a group of celebrities it is. How many of these Z-listers do you know? The Bachelor's Jake Pavelka, Heidi Montag, Real Housewife Danielle Staub, singer and former gubernatorial escort Ashley Dupre, Three 6 Mafia members DJ Paul and Juicy J, and Sopranos star Vincent Pastore.
Does anyone remember when VH1 played music videos? Sometimes they were even music videos about food. Hell, they could still play new music videos centered on food! A hasty canvassing of the crew aboard the USS Gut Check turned up the following famous food-related music videos.
"Soul Food" Goodie Mob
"She Don't Use Jelly" The Flaming Lips
"Eat It" Weird Al Yankovic
"Big Me" Foo Fighters "Chicken and Meat" Das Racist
"Eat to the Beat" Blondie
"Koka-Kola" The Clash Aunt Jessie's dream from "Magical Mystery Tour
"Don't Come Around Here No More" Tom Petty
