From one Delmar Loop mainstay to another: KT Ayers
, the former owner and chef of the late Riddle's Penultimate Café & Wine Bar
, is now a "guest chef" at the Delmar Restaurant & Lounge (6235 Delmar Boulevard; 314-725-6565)
, general manager Phil Ingram tells Gut Check.
In spite of the "guest" label, Ingram says he and Ayers both expect her "to stick around long-term."
The connection between Ingram and Ayers goes a little deeper than their restaurants having been Loop neighbors: "She and I are good friends. I came to the Delmar from Riddle's."
Ingram says Ayers is "tweaking stuff" and "adding her touch" to the Delmar's southern- and Cajun-influenced. In addition, she has introduced a half-dozen new dishes, including an alligator appetizer and a few items imported from Riddle's, like andouille sausage with cheese sauce.
