Doughnut Leave Krispy Kreme Without Your Flu Shot

Come for the doughnuts. Stay for the influenza.

It's only Monday morning, but we already have a clear frontrunner for Oddest Restaurant Promotion of the Week: Several area locations of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts are offering "drive-thru" flu shots.

No, really. The flier says, "Don't leave your car, just roll up your sleeve!"

The shots are provided by the Visiting Nurse Association and are only for patrons eighteen and older.

The shots will be available this week at the Fenton location (1871 Bowles Avenue) from 7-11 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, and at the South County location (6935 South Lindbergh Boulevard) from 7-11 a.m. Thursday, September 23. Next week, they will be available at Fairvew Heights, Illinois, (5812 North Illinois Street) from 7-11 a.m., Wednesday, September 29, and at the Ferguson location (10880 Florissant Road) from 7-11 a.m., Thursday, September 30.

Sadly, the nurses, though armed with needles, won't extract the fat from all the Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts you've eaten.
