Checking in with our friends around the St. Louis food Interwebs reveals a couple of news items today. George Mahe reports on St. Louis Magazine's Feast that Webster Groves wine bar and restaurant Robust has named Kris Janik executive chef and Frank Romano general manager. Meanwhile, Sauce Magazine has word of the new executive chef at Cielo: Fabrizio Schenardi, most recently of the Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza.

Finally, to step outside St. Louis, Eater reports that Robb Walsh, cookbook author and the former restaurant critic at our sister paper, the Houston Press, is planning to open a Tex-Mex restaurant in Houston. Walsh, besides being one of my favorite food writers, is an expert -- maybe the expert -- on Tex-Mex cuisine. I don't know him personally, but I wish him the best!
