Soda chanh duong (sparkling lemonade) at Lemon Grass
The heat and humidity of the past week have made it difficult to get excited about any particular food. Lemonade, on the other hand, was made for precisely this kind of weather -- and few beverages are as refreshing as the soda chanh duong
, or sparkling lemonade, at Lemon Grass.
It amazes me that sparkling lemonade hasn't caught on in America. Lemon Grass' version is a lovely drink, tart and sweet, though both the tartness and sweetness are less pronounced than in conventional lemonade. The key, of course, is the carbonation. The effervescence gives the lemonade an extra lightness -- so light that for a moment you imagine you could skip right through the thick summer air.Lemon Grass

dishes in St. Louis. Some are well-known, others obscure. Some are
expensive, others dirt cheap. All of them, I guarantee, are delicious.
