While Midwesterners have gone mushroom hunting for generations, foraging is just catching on in San Francisco's urban culinary jungle. The San Francisco Chronicle features chefs like Iso Rabins, who's been hosting tasting menus of foraged goodies.
Chicago's getting a Michelin Guide. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the publication, which sets the standard of fine dining in Europe for over a century, will publish its Chicago guide in November. It's the first Midwestern city to get the guide. New York City got its first guide five years ago.
FarmVille's goes green. The New York Times reports that players of the Facebook-based game will have the option of planting virtual Cascadian Farms-brand blueberries. This is the first brand to be used in the ridiculously popular game, and they plan to use it to teach players about organic farming. And, of course, entice them to buy products from the General Mills-owned company.
