April is synonymous with new beginnings: Spring is underway, baseball returns and, in St. Louis, new restaurants extend their fragile buds toward the warming light of patio season.

Or something like that.

Several new restaurants debuted this month, including -- fittingly enough -- the new downtown location of Ozzie's Restaurant & Sports Bar, the grand opening of which Gut Check crashed, gaining a picture of the beaming Wizard of Oz himself.
