Where am I? What am I eating?
A reader tipped me off to the source of this tasty dish. (If that particular reader sees this, I'd ask him not to post the answer! And thanks!) It was the first time I'd been there, but I'll definitely back -- maybe to include this in my 100 Favorite St. Louis Dishes
Guesses as comments. Clues, etc., etc. And if you know a dish that might stump the readers, shoot me an email
: (Thursday, 4.1, 2:18 p.m.) Commenter Christian correctly identifies the "moldy mushroom cap" as a pupusa, the El Salvadoran specialty. But where did I eat it?Update #2
: (Thursday, 4.1, 3:30 p.m.) Fine work, friends. Commenter Steve O. correctly identified the restaurant as Tres Banderas
, which is located at 15939 Manchester Road in Ellisville. The pupusa might be unlovely to look at, but it is damn tasty.
