Bar Italia (13 Maryland Plaza; website) will host a day-long event to benefit earthquake relief in Haiti on Saturday, January 23. The effort will support three organizations: Meds and Food for Kids, the Salvation Army and American Jewish World Service. The day begins with family-focused activities and entertainment from 2-5 p.m. From 4-6 p.m. there is a wine tasting and happy hour.

The main event is "The Dinner Event," which features an open bar, live music and auction items. This requires a minimum $50 donation to attend. All proceeds from the dinner event and the sale and auction of donated items will go to earthquake relief through the organizations listed above, as will 20% of all other sales.
