The annual St. Louis Wine Festival will be held next weekend, October 3 and 4, at the Grand Basin in Forest Park. This year's festival will feature some 200 different wines to sample. This year will also feature a tribute to Belgian beers -- I can't imagine why -- including pairings of food and Belgian beer from Daniel Joly of the Beaver Creek, Colorado, restaurant Mirabelle. The festival runs from noon-7 p.m. Saturday, October 3, and noon-6 p.m. Sunday, October 4.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the entrance. (Designated drivers can attend for $10. Which seems steep, frankly, since you're the designated driver at a wine festival.) Buy your advance tickets at the festival website, or call 888-210-0074.
