Three for Three: 7.25-7.27

Gut Check recommends three ways you won't go hungry this weekend.

Is it just me, or have we entered the summer doldrums? Maybe I'm still suffering a spiritual hangover from being at last night's ballgame. Yeowch.

1. Tomorrow night Slow Food St. Louis hosts its Art of Food benefit at Mad Art Gallery (2727 South 12th Street). Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. More details here and, as I mentioned in this week's blog digest, at STL Bites.

More after the jump...

2. The disappearing honeybee -- a.k.a. Colony Collapse Disorder -- has been mentioned far too often in Gut Check's Morning Brew. Attend a free event at Bowood Farms (4605 Olive Street) to learn how you can help. More info here and here.

3. Chef Russel Byers of Soulard's Restaurant is this week's Chef at the Market at Soulard Market (730 Carroll Street). Byers' demonstration begins at 10 a.m. Saturday in the market courtyard.

That's all for this week. Next week: It's a fictional character! It's a racial stereotype! It's a mustache! It's a restaurant! It's a bar! It's giving me a headache trying to keep it all stragiht.

Have a great weekend. Eat something good.
