Milennials Hate the St. Louis Dating Scene

  • Young people aren't feeling the love in St. Louis' dating scene.

Only 26 percent of St. Louis millennials are happy with the dating scene here — placing the metro area in the bottom five nationwide in a new survey.

The study, conducted by residential real estate site Apartment List, surveyed 26,000 people across the U.S. They were asked to rate their satisfaction with dating opportunities in their city or neighborhood.

St. Louis overall finished 44 out of 66 cities, just below Tampa and right before San Diego. But when it came specifically to millennial respondents — people ages 23 to 38, who conceivably ought to have the best options for mingling and mating — the city's ranking plummeted to a dismal 36 out of 39 places.

Missouri as a whole apparently sucks: Kansas City ranked 35th.

So if you're living in the St. Louis area and you're unhappy this Valentine's Day, maybe this will make you feel better:

It's not you; it's us.
