In anticipation of protests, a number of St. Louis events planned for this weekend have been canceled since Judge Timothy Wilson found ex-St. Louis police office Jason Stockley "not guilty" in the death of Anthony Lamar Smith. Which has left many, many people wondering, "Is the Great Forest Park Balloon Race still happening?"

That answer is yes. At 12:26 p.m., organizers announced on the event's Twitter account that both the Balloon Glow, which is scheduled for tonight, as well as tomorrow's balloon race, will be proceeding as planned.

The Balloon Glow, which features the balloons lit up at night, will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Art Hill, followed by a 9:15 p.m. fireworks show.

Tomorrow, the Great Forest Park Balloon Race festivities will begin at noon, with a schedule including skydivers, live music, children's entertainment and, of course, the launching of the balloons.

Oh, and more good news: Schlafly has confirmed that Hop in the City is going on tomorrow from noon to 4 p.m., too. The Shakespeare Festival also says they intend to be back in business by tomorrow, too.
