Every year, the Craft Alliance (6640 Delmar Boulevard, University City; 314-725-1177 or www.craftalliance.org) provides arts mentoring to high schoolers through its Crafting-a-Future program. The young artists receive valuable experience working with a variety of media, and perhaps more important, they learn self-confidence in their abilities. At the end of the year, the students display their work in the Crafting-a-Future Exhibition. Family, friends and lovers of the arts are invited to attend the opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, to see the fruits of the students’ labor and get a sneak peak at the future of the St. Louis arts scene. The show remains up through Sunday, September 9, and the gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Aug. 29. Continues through Sept. 9
