Will it Be Cold Outside?

Considering how the weather's been of late, this year's Loop Ice Carnival may be in danger of becoming the Loop Puddle Carnival. But even if it is unseasonably warm today (this is what's known as the reverse jinx, as Old Man Winter will now drop a cold snap on us just in time), you'll still have a good time in the Delmar Loop (from the 5900 block to the 6600 block of Delmar Boulevard). From 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., you can enjoy live ice carving demonstrations by guys with chainsaws outside Fitz's, human dog sled races, an ice slide next to Blueberry Hill, 15 holes of small-scale golf during the Putt Putt Pub Crawl, and other ice-themed activities. Admission to the Loop Ice Carnival is free, but you'll want to bring money for food and drinks, and also because most businesses in the area are offering special sales.
