It's our own peculiar version of the swallows coming back to Capistrano, except replace "swallows" with "master improv comedian Bill Chott" and "Capistrano" with "St. Louis." Every December without fail, Chott comes home to join the cast of the Improv Trick for a run of shows. This year, they combine efforts for A Festivus Carol: O Come All Ye Playful, a special holiday-themed musical that's completely improvised every night. The magic happens twice nightly at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday (December 17 and 18) at the Ivory Theatre (7620 Michigan Avenue; 314-631-8330 or www.theivorytheatre.com), and tickets are $20.
