The Good Is Gone!

After touring the world instructing and directing her classically trained dancers in both Italy and France, renowned dancer Karole Armitage returns stateside with her own company, Armitage Gone! Dance. Armitage has danced with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, created and performed punk-inspired choreography to the music of Rhys Chatham, worked with Madonna and Michael Jackson (not at the same time, but she probably could) and created dances for dozens of acclaimed companies. Armitage Gone! Dance is her return to classically derived performance blended with contemporary moves. Her latest work can be seen in two performances at the Touhill Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (One University Drive at Natural Bridge Road). The Armitage Gone! Dance Company performs at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday (April 30 and May 1). Tickets range from $28 to $50. For more information, visit www.dancestlouis.org or call 314-516-4949.
