Summertime Spectacular!

Jun 2, 2010 at 4:00 am
Each summer Ms. Day makes a lengthy to-do list of all of her favorite St. Louis summertime activities, but no matter how hard she tries, she's never been able to cross off everything on her list. It's frustrating, sure, but she doesn't let it get her down. This year — like every other year — she'll brave the busyness and start on her summer-fulfillment quest as soon as possible, beginning by big-topping it at Circus Flora (www.circusflora.org). The one-ring show runs every day except Monday from Thursday, June 3, through Sunday, June 27 — opening night is a peanut-free preview event — and Don Quixote provides the Spanish inspiration for Ingenioso, this year's fun-filled, theatrical production. Featuring amazing animal acts, breathtaking trapeze thrills, the funny-not-scary Nino the Clown, live music and much more, Circus Flora practically guarantees sweaty palms and big smiles for all present in the air-conditioned big-top tent, which is pitched at 3509 Samuel Shepard Drive in Grand Center. Tickets for the show cost $8 to $39 (at 314-534-1111 or www.metrotix.com), offering an affordable and enthusiastic start to anyone's summer, including Ms. Day's. Now, if she could just get to those other 257 items on the list...
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: June 3. Continues through June 27, 2010
