Dennis Brown and Paul Friswold suss out the local theater scene

Heroes Not a lot happens in this nostalgic reverie by Gerald Sibleyras (translated by Tom Stoppard), but you can have a lot of fun while it's not happening. Three aging veterans of the Great War (Kevin Beyer, David Gibbs, Richard Lewis) while away their waning days by rambling on about such topics as women, cycling, the music that should be played at their funerals – and did I mention women? They also plot one last campaign, a preposterous escape to Indochina. All is not quiet on this Western front, for the air is frequently punctuated with laughter, and much of it is ours. Performed through July 12 at the Fontbonne University Fine Arts Center Theatre, 6800 Wydown Boulevard, Clayton. Tickets are $20 ($18 for students and seniors).
