Singin' King of the Jungle

"Me, tenor; you, soprano." Who's king of the jungle now? The Muny has the answer to that question in its second show of the season: Tarzan, based on the Disney animated film with music by Phil Collins. Nicholas Rodriguez, who played the character on Broadway, throws on the loincloth for another turn as the jungle boy who has to choose to live within the confines of society or among the wild with his closest family -- who just happen to be apes. If this were a true tale, Tarzan could have the best of both worlds by choosing to live with Jane (Kate Rockwell), his romantic interest, and keep a home in the jungle for weekends. The Muny (314-361-1900 or www.muny.org) presents Tarzan nightly at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, through Wednesday, July 2. Tickets are $14 to $85.
