Joan Long and Deborah Patty were longtime TWA flight attendants who met and started catering 14 years ago while on strike against the airline. The pair later expanded their business into the Abbey, which is a former church, and the Sydney Street building, which is an old pool-table factory. "It's funky," Long says of the venue, which offers a view of eagles, coyotes and the Mississippi River. Patty Long's caters hundreds of parties and wedding receptions each year.
