It boggles the mind, and it can drain your spirit if you dwell on it, but the fact is that there are those in our community who blithely neglect and/or abuse dogs and other animals. It's a subhuman thing to do, yet they do it anyway. The heartening news is that there other folks among us who will step up and do the heroic work of rescuing and nursing these mistreated creatures. Randy Grim's Stray Rescue organization is at the forefront of these noble St. Louisans, doing vital, brave work in our town every day. As you might imagine, they need all the help they can get. You can pitch in and do your part while having a blast. Tonight from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Novak's Bar and Grill (4121 Manchester Avenue; 314-531-3699 or www.strayrescue.org), join in on the Ultimate Fundraiser for Drag Kings. Along with the cross-dressing gala, partake in raffles and pudding shots -- and in return, enjoy the warm fuzzies that result from helping out Stray Rescue and its invaluable mission for our fellow, furry creatures. Admission is a $5 suggested donation, which goes directly to Stray Rescue.
