In the past few years, the Midwest has become something of a hotspot for indie rap, largely thanks to Kansas City's Mac Lethal. The former Scribble Jam-freestyle heavyweight released last year's 11:11 on the Rhymesayers label, making him one of the top names on the underground circuit. Often quoted for his sarcastic and cynical punch lines, Mac's brand of blue-collar rap can be introspective, political and even outright silly. His wit and crystal clear delivery match nicely with his production, which incorporates various styles of hip-hop. Also performing are Black Clover labelmates and South Dakota natives Soulcrate.
