Luck of the Irish

Come this time of year, it's safe to say that Saints Patrick and Louis have a special relationship. Even though the city's Irish population is estimated at less than nine percent, St. Louis consistently ranks as one of the top destinations for revelers looking to get their green on, thanks in part to The Ancient Order of Hibernians, who have been marching through the old Irish neighborhood of Dogtown for nearly 30 years. At 12:30 p.m on Saturday, March 17, the Hibernians' Irish War Pipers will lead more than 100 marching units, Shriner cars and floats from the intersection of Tamm and Oakland avenues (near Forest Park) for the annual Dogtown St. Patrick's Day Parade. Once the parade puts an Irish spring in your step, be sure to hit Dogtown's restaurants and pubs, which will be abuzz until the luck of the Irish runs out.
