Start the year on a young foot

It's a clean slate today. You know what would be a great initial mark on this, the first day of the rest of your life? Revert to childhood and enjoy yourself. You have 364 more days to be productive. No one cares if you slough off your mantle of adulthood today — everyone is too hung-over to notice. So get up early, make yourself a big pancake breakfast, and be first in line at the City Museum (701 North 15th Street; 314-231-2489 or www.citymuseum.org) when it opens at 9 a.m. Hit the slides 22 times before anyone else gets there. Dive to the bottom of the ball pit and lurk, and then bombard the first unsuspecting sap who enters. Crawl deep into that floor tunnel in the room with the whale, and do your best whale-song imitation. And if you do it all while wearing a suit and tie, even better — nobody ever suspects a sharp-dressed adult of bad behavior outside of the boardroom. Admission is still $12, and closing time is 5 p.m.
