His History (and Ours)

If you're anything like us, you find St. Louis history incredibly fascinating. You've whiled away hours walking around your neighborhood among the old buildings, wondering about their former inhabitants. Perhaps you've even visited the Campbell House Museum. If so, you've seen where Robert Campbell settled here in St. Louis, but you don't know the Irish immigrant's whole story. Lucky for you, Patrick C. MacCulloch (pictured) does. He's the author of The Campbell Quest: A Saga of Family and Fortune — and he happens to be a distant relative of Robert Campbell! Meet the author at one of these upcoming free events: at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, at the Missouri History Museum (Lindell Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue; 314-746-4599 or www.mohistory.org), from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, at the Campbell House Museum (1508 Locust Street) or at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 15, at the St. Louis County Library Headquarters branch (1640 South Lindbergh Boulevard, Frontenac). And note: The Campbell House author event also features Irish music and dancing; call 314-421-0325 to save your spot.
