Harlem Tap Room

The Harlem Tap Room is an historic jewel of the north side - it may even be the birthplace of the "north-side pour," because, dang, these cocktails will knock you flat. Operating at the same location on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive for the past 67 years, walking inside is like teleporting to a bygone era, albeit one where everybody knows your name, your sister's name and probably your grandfather's too. Outsiders are given a wide berth at first, but if you behave yourself and nod along to the old-school soul music melting out of the jukebox, it isn't long before you're clapped on the back and given permission to come back.
