Get Low

Dec 1, 2011 at 4:00 am
Let's face it: We live in a world were clarinets and flutes get all of the attention. Sure, these instruments are small and cute, but what about the brass section? Where would we be without those instruments? We'd be bored, that's where we'd be, without the trumpet calls, the trombone honks and the blasts of the almighty tuba. At least, this last instrument (and some of its friends) will be getting their due at 2 p.m. at the Macy's Court at the Saint Louis Galleria (South Brentwood Boulevard and Clayton Road, Richmond Heights; 314-863-5500 or www.saintlouisgalleria.com). During the Merry Tuba Christmas concert, more than 100 tuba, euphonium, baritone horn and sousaphone players will gather together to bring shoppers all of the joyful low, low sounds of the season. Admission to this performance is free -- a great price, considering the fact that you'll gain a lifetime of appreciation.
