Free for a Dance?

Mar 22, 2006 at 4:00 am
Here at Night & Day, we often wonder whether our family would have stuck together had we just learned to dance. After all, we'd already written a musical revue, and it was a surefire hit! At the very least, Sister wouldn't have joined the French Foreign Legion and died in that unfortunate speedboat incident in Cote d'Ivoire, and Father probably wouldn't have become the theater critic for the Times. Don't repeat our mistakes. Don your spiffiest spats — or, really, whatever shoes you've got — and visit Center of Creative Arts (524 Trinity Avenue, University City; 314-725-6555) at 3 p.m. for "Tap for the Family," the latest offering in COCA's Free @ 3 series of free programs. Families can learn the basic steps and rhythms necessary to bring da noise. (Bringing da funk is strictly for advanced tappers.) And if some talent scout should offer you the chance to bring your feet to Broadway, take it from us: Just say yes.
