For Whom the Bell's Pours

Bell's Brewery, located in picturesque Kalamazoo, Michigan, makes a hell of a beer. Somebody (no names, please) whiled away much of this past winter with Bell's Cherry Stout ever in hand; this summer is similarly flying by in a river of Bell's Two-Hearted Ale. But isn't there more to life than beer-drinking? Yes — there's also dinner. Perhaps even a dinner with a — gasp! — different style of beer. Tonight at 7 p.m. at Newstead Tower Public House (4353 Manchester Avenue; 314-535-7771 or www.newsteadtowerpub.com), chef Anthony Devoti presents a specially prepared five-course dinner, each installment paired with an appropriate style of Bell's beer. Five-course meal and five kinds of beer? Some call it the Bell's Beer Dinner, but others would call it heaven. Admission is $45 per guest, and reservations are recommended.
