While the name Dirtie Blonde may sound unfamiliar, the group's single, "Walk Over Me," is recognizable to anyone with a Top-40-tuned car stereo — although listeners could have easily confused it for a new Alanis Morrissette or Meredith Brooks release, thanks to the gritty voice of frontwoman Amie Miriello. (But never fear: The buxom blonde's trained warble also trembles into Joni Mitchell territory.) Her vocal relentlessness is highlighted by four male bandmates (Tim, Sean, Jay and Dean; yes, they're all brunette) who rock the hook-heavy twinge-pop with staccato crispness. MachoPsycho — a production force behind Pink, among others — produced Dirtie Blonde's self-titled debut, and while there is a timbre of toughness, the band isn't mizundastood. To the contrary, the natural talent of this Blonde is anything but bottled.
