Clara Comes Back

Dec 9, 2010 at 4:00 am
After a well-received  run last December, the Missouri Ballet Theatre brings back its popular version of The Nutcracker once again this year. The chaotic and imaginative story of little Clara and her nighttime journey with a Nutcracker who is more than he seems is brought to life by a company that boasts 75 student dancers in addition to its professional cast. Like many fairy tales and fables, the story of The Nutcracker is beautiful in the end with everyone safe and sound but dark and dangerous in the middle bits. Performances take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday (December 17 through 19) at Washington University's Edison Theatre (6445 Forsyth Boulevard; 314-935-6543 or www.edisontheatre.wustl.edu). Tickets are $25 to $38.
