A Very Important Date

Tumble down the rabbit hole and witness Alice's wonky adventures in Wonderland set to song at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis' debut of Alice in Wonderland at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Webster University's Loretto-Hilton Center (130 Edgar Road). The operatic adaptation of Lewis Carroll's classic stories Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass unfolds in seven scenes and includes the usual suspects: the mischievous Cheshire cat, menacing Mad Hatter, tempestuous Queen of Hearts, history's most hurried hare, the White Rabbit and, of course, dizzy, daydreaming Alice. Its 2007 European debut was hailed as the "World Premiere of the Year" by German opera magazine Opernwelt, making its run in St. Louis that much more a very important date. Tickets range in price from $25 to $128. For more information call 314-961-0644 or visit www.opera-stl.org.
